Senator Hope Uzodinma of the APC had argued that his votes were unlawfully excluded by INEC in 388 units in the state.
Though, the lower courts disagreed with him, the Supreme Court after listening to the arguments of both counsels agreed with the appellant and assumed the position of the trail court to add those votes amounting to over 203,000 votes plus the over 97,000 he had already, he now has about 301,000votes surpassing Ihedioha’s 293,000 votes.
And so Hope Uzodinma with a spread of 18 LGAs out of the 27 LGAs of Imo State met the constitutional requirement of 2/3.
Therefore the Supreme Court in a unanimous judgement of 7 Justices declared him winner and ordered INEC to withdraw the certificate from Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha and issue same to Senator Hope Uzodinma as duly elected governor of Imo State.
It will be recalled that Rev Father Ejike Mbaka had through his December 2019 cross over service prophesied that in this year 2020 the then Gov Emeka Ihedioha will give way for Senator Hope Uzodinma as Governor of Imo State.
Though it seemed impossible with the fact that based on the results of the 2019 Governorship election in Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma came a distant 4th position behind Ihedioha, Uche Nwosu and Ifeanyi Ararume respectively.
But with this judgement, the prophesy has been fulfilled!
