APC Crisis: List Of Party Members, Eligible To Attend NEC Meeting, June 25th June,2020

The planned National Executive Committee Meeting, organised by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Victor Giadom is scheduled to hold on Thursday June 25, 2020. There have been speculations about the possibility of holding the meeting. But strong indications have been emerging, to confirm that the meeting will certainly hold. At least, 140 members of the party are expected to be in attendance, according to the party constitution. What is surprising is that, there is no eligibility for the party national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. It means he may not be physically present in the meeting.

The officers and elected members of the party, who are eligible to attend the meeting are, according to the party constitution are:

(i) National Chairman

(ii) Deputy National Chairman (North)

(iii) Deputy National Chairman (South)

(iv) National Secretary

(v) Deputy National Secretary

(vi) Six National Vice Chairman, one from each geopolitical zone

Ahmed Lawan, Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

(vii) National Legal Adviser

(viii) Deputy National Legal Adviser

(ix) National Treasurer

(x) Deputy National Treasurer

Victor Giadom, Acting National Chairman of the party

(xii) National Financial Secretary

(xiii) Deputy Financial Secretary

(xiv) National Organising Secretary

(xv) National Publicity Secretary

(xvi) Deputy National Publicity Secretary

(xvii) National Welfare Secretary

(xix) National Auditor

(xxxiii) Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who are members of the party

Lawal Shaibu, Deputy National Chairman (South)

(xxxiv) Governors of the states of the Federation, who are members of the party

(xxxv) Majority of Minority Leader, Party Whip and their deputies in the Senate and House of Representatives, who are members of the party.

(xxxvi) Two serving Senators from each geopolitical zone of the country, who are members of the party, to be nominated by the Senators from such zone

(xxxvii) Three members of the House of Representatives from each geopolitical zone of the country, who are members of the party, to be nominated by the members from such zone

Atiku Bagudu, Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum

(xxxviii) Six Ex-officio members,box whom, one each shall be elected by the National Convention from each of the six geopolitical zones of the country

(xxxix) Serving Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen and Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BOT)

With the calibre of party members, that will attend the meeting, the outcome will go along in either settle the crisis in the party of further escalate it. It is obvious that, the party officers loyal to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu may not be in the meeting.
