Citizens Quest Visits Abuja IDP Camps to celebrate Eid Al-Adha with them

The Citizens Quest for Truth Initiative, an accountability advocacy Non Governmental Organisation has, as part of their desire for a nation where peace reigns, visited camps of Internally Displaced Persons in Abuja and its environs, to celebrate Eid Al-Adha with them.

The leader of the visitation team and the National President of the Group, Chief Obiaruko Ndukwe who spoke to newsmen after the exercise stated that the Citizens Quest have been in the habit of charity, regularly and periodically, but chose not to be loud about it.

According to her, “the essence of this visit is to give the IDPs a sense of belonging and hope.” She asserted that it was not their making or desire to be displaced so they appreciate such message of hope to keep on. She said Citizens Quest is poised to go beyond mere rhetorics and advocacy to directly touch the lives of Nigerians, because everything should not be left to the Government alone.

At Kuchingoro IDP camp, Abuja, the Chief Obiaruko Ndukwe led group distributed among items, wrappers for women to ensure they are properly clothed and also to help shield their young ones from the harsh July weather.

Some other members of the visitation team, Mrs Itekena Nelson Wordu, Iheoma Ahumibe and Ogunewe expressed delight at the opportunity provided by the Citizens Quest for Truth Initiative to enable them participate in a corporal work of mercy and charity which a focal point of Christianity.
